We offer complete integrated services relating to marine terminals.This includes layout planning, operational and maintenance philosophy, marine construction, electrical systems and mechanical installations.

Geophysical and hydrodynamic assessments

COWI undertake the assessment of geophysical data and define design parameters.

We analyse metaocean data and use MIKE21 numerical wave modelling software to calculate wave disturbance at the terminal.

The wave data is used to define the elevation of structures and the calculation of wave forces.

Berth layout studies
COWI performs vessel manoeuvring studies to define dimensions of approach channels and turning basins.
Planning of the berthing head arrangement is based on the vessel range together with loading / unloading requirements. We perform dynamic mooring analyses, including vessel downtime assessment.

Facilities Design
Facilities design includes berth and loading facilities, breakwaters, access trestle and pipe racks / conveyors.
In addition, facilities design encompasses tug berths, construction docks, electrical and mechanical installations, including security features and emergency shutdowns.
