The programme requires the coordinates of the centre point of the image (in Lat / Long or any other standard datum like UTM) and the Time / Date / Year, the image was taken, as input for computing the sun angle.
To obtain the heights of buildings, the user is required to capture the length of the shadows by drawing a line for the shadow along with the building polygon. Thereafter the programme processes the vector data so obtained to obtain the heights of buildings from the ground base.
The programme can be employed to generate low-cost line-of-sight map of flat terrain without a DTM. Low-cost mapping of undulating terrain can also be handled if the DTM of the area is available in the form of contours etc. Likely to be found suitable for recently developed areas for which terrain height is generally available in the form of contours.
