COWI A/S and Kampsax India have contributed to the regular 5-year update scheme of the Danish 1:10,000 national topographical map. During 3 annual assignments from 2004 to 2006, more than 7,700 km2 were updated.

About the project

The annual assignments included photogrammetric plotting of new and changed topographical objects according to the Danish TOP10DK standard for topographical mapping. The map update was based on colour aerial photography in scale 1:25,000.
 
In addition, the assignments involved updating of height model data and production of orthophotos in 40 cm resolution covering the same areas.

Production

All digital map production was carried out by Kampsax India with COWI A/S responsible for project management and final quality control. A tailored production setup was developed to match the special requirements of the Danish TOP10DK standard including attribute data and comprehensive origin data.

The Kort10 map

The produced data - forming the 'Kort10' map dataset - is one of the core elements of the national Danish Topographic Base Map Database. Kort10 is used as the geographic basis for Denmark's egovernment infrastructure - a product available through the Digital Map Supply of the National Survey and Cadastre of Denmark.
